This is an Icon showing St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory the Theologian and St. John Chrysostom – the three Holy Hierarchs. They were teachers of Christian theology and honored as “Doctors of the Church “. They lived the words they preached, and their words were read, copied and discussed long after their deaths. The saints are venerated by the Orthodox Christian Church as well as the Catholic church and many Christian religions.
