The Stations of the Cross is a powerful Western Christian devotion used during Lent and Holy Week. Also called "The Way of the Cross" (or in Latin, Via Crucis), it follows the journey of Christ from His condemnation by Pilate to His death.

This icon is a composite of the 14 individual icons, painted in the style of traditional Byzantine iconography, with bold colors and incredible crimson backgrounds.

In the center is a large icon of Extreme Humility, representing the burial of Christ and the descent into Hades, the ultimate show of humility. "And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." (Php. 2:8)
