This modern icon of the Ascension of Christ depicts the glorious ascent of Christ attended by angels and witnessed by the Apostles and the Theotokos. This Great Feast is commemorated 40 days after Pascha and 10 days before Pentecost, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. 

The original icon is housed at the Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC, and used by permission by Legacy Icons.
