This 13th century fresco, from the Mileševa Monastery in Serbia, shows the angel announcing the Resurrection to the myrrh-bearing women. The tomb is shown empty, with only Christ's burial clothes remaining.

The icon demonstrates a transition between the Romanesque style of the 12th century to the more refined and elegant Byzantine style of the 13th century. This and its spiritual significance make it a beautiful addition to any collection.
